Research

For research purposes i looked at various new designs in relation to travel. The journal 'Viewpoint' had a very good issue all dedicated to the future of travel.

In this edition, it looks at everything from the traveler to destination to new inventions.
It splits the travellers up into 8 categories, virtual tourists, no-frill affluents, free loaders, homedulgents, bleisure travellers, body tourists, transglobals and rough luxe travellers. I think our customer best suits 'Bleisure Travellers'. It describes them as blurring the lines between business and leisure, our always- on beleisure travellers require convergent solutions that allow them to switch seamlessly between work and play..

Another thing i found interesting was in the product design section, a designer called Dominic Hargreaves made a rucksake with a fold out scooter to allow travellers to get around easy at the airport.

A few images of it..
